Read Galations 4:4-7                                   Our Heritage

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:  So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a

My parents seemed frail and bent over with age as I left them standing on the sidewalk waving good-bye.  Driving off, I thought about all they had given me. They helped open my heart to the love of Jesus and trained me up “in the way I should go,” even through my rebellious years.  I had their constant love, and each day they lived their faith in Christ as an example to me. It was my personal heritage.

Just as I received my earthly heritage (or birthright) from my parents, I received my eternal heritage from God through His Son, Jesus Christ, who suffered, died, and rose again for my salvation.  Because I believe in the heritage I have through Christ, I am assured of eternal life.  There is no other heritage that can give that assurance -- it is our birthright as believers in Christ..  

PRAYER:  We praise you, dear Heavenly Father, for the heritage you have given us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
