Sixty-two and What Do I Do??
Sixty-two and What Do I Do??
I’m 62, and what do I do, to keep my body healthy?
So many rules, so what do I choose
Now that healthy is better than wealthy?
Find time to floss and brush, to bathe and dust.
Drink eight glasses of water a day.
Nine servings of fruit, and veggies to boot,
And carbohydrates are good in their way.
Be sure to count fat content, and calories too,
To keep your heart healthy and strong.
Watch out for high blood pressure, and varicose veins,
And flab where it doesn’t belong.
To keep the bones dense, makes a lot of sense.
Hoist the weights and walk if you can.
Get eight hours of sleep to keep at your peak,
And have fun with that boring diet plan.
Take a vitamin for this and a vitamin for that,
Deficiencies we need to replace.
There’s calcium, zinc, folic acid and E,
So have a section for each pill in a case.
Another thing that takes up our time,
Is taking good care of our feet.
Bunions and corns and heel problems too --
And none of this proves to be cheap.
Well, I’ve complained enough about all the stuff
That requires seniors to be health subscribers.
But I hasten to add that it isn’t a fad,
to be regular about taking your fiber.
